Housing has become an important issue over recent years, particularly with regard to availability and affordability. Owning a home is important to many of us, with the sense of security and well-being that it provides.

This new development will help local people to stay in the area, thus meeting a significant need. This housing will appeal to a wide demographic, ranging from single people to families.

The development will include a significant amount of affordable housing, the tenure of which will be agreed with South Northamptonshire Council. In supporting New Homes Month, Grant Shapps MP, Housing Minister said:

“The facts are clear – house building is at its lowest since wartime years, but the demand for new homes continues to rise – we need more homes and quickly. Without new homes, the 1.4 million who aspire to home ownership will have to give up their dream, not to mention the millions waiting for new social homes. That’s exactly why this government is backing house building, scrapping red tape and giving councils and communities the power and incentive to build. “

“New homes also have a crucial part to play in driving forward this Government’s green agenda. Good design and environment-friendly building practices have the potential to help us dramatically reduce our energy consumption, as well as harness natural energy, to build homes people like that are fit for our modern age.

“Times are tough and house builders have felt the brunt of the recession, but the need for new homes could not be greater. If we are to revive house building, restore aspirations of home ownership and help the market recover, builders and the industry must work together with councils and local people to deliver more homes and sooner.”
