Barratt Strategic and Taylor Wimpey UK Ltd. submitted an outline planning application to South Northamptonshire Council in August 2010.

South Northamptonshire Council has suggested a number of amendments which have been incorporated into the masterplan presented here. The fundamental principles of the development remain in place.

Masterplan February 2011

Site area: The paddock which adjoins The Glebe to the north east has been removed from the development site.

Transport links: The proposed Masterplan allows for potential links into adjoining land to the east of Radstone Fields as shown in the Brackley Masterplan. The provision of a link will enable the land to the east of the disused railway, which is intended for development, to access the new services and facilities proposed at Radstone Fields.

Local centre: Day-to-day facilities (for example, a convenience store and/or café) will now be provided alongside the new community centre and the primary school to ensure these complementary uses create a central focus to the development.

School location: The primary school is now proposed in a more central location as part of the new local centre, which will lie alongside the bus route.

Community centre: The proposals now incorporate a dedicated community centre which is included to provide a valuable facility for new and existing residents.

Sports Pitches: Three junior pitches are to be provided in a central location. This represents an increase in provision from the earlier masterplan.

Open space: Two large areas of open space are proposed. There will be a central park, which will contain play equipment for all ages, and a northern countryside edge, which will provide accessible green space and areas to enhance the ecological value of the site.
